1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using SoundMind Quest ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.
2. Service Description
SoundMind Quest provides mental health resources including, but not limited to:
- Crisis resources and safety planning tools
- Self-assessment screening tools (PHQ-9, GAD-7, etc.)
- Directory of Christian counselors and therapists
- Support group finder
- Peer support connections
- Biblical resources on mental health
- Mood tracking and progress tools
- Daily devotionals and encouragement
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your password
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Be responsible for all activities under your account
3.2 Age Requirements
You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service. If you are under 18, you should have parental consent to use our services.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
- Share false or misleading information
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
- Collect or harvest user data without consent
- Use the Service to promote harmful content
5. Peer Support Guidelines
If you participate in our peer support network:
- Peer supporters are not licensed professionals
- Do not share specific medical or treatment advice
- Report concerning content to our safety team
- Maintain confidentiality of conversations
- Treat all participants with respect and compassion
6. Payment Terms
For premium features or donations:
- All payments are processed in USD via Stripe
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled
- You may cancel at any time; access continues until period ends
- Refunds handled on a case-by-case basis
- Donations are non-refundable unless made in error
7. Intellectual Property
The Service and its content (excluding user-generated content) are owned by SoundMind Quest and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
Scripture quotations are in the public domain (KJV) or used under applicable licenses.
8. User Content
You retain ownership of content you create (mood logs, safety plans, etc.). By using our Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process this content to provide the Service to you.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
We make no guarantees about the accuracy of self-assessment results, the qualifications of listed counselors (users should verify credentials independently), or the effectiveness of any resources provided.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SOUNDMIND QUEST SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SoundMind Quest from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.
13. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or prominent notice on our website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
15. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unsuccessful, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
